Description: Multiple anthropological frameworks explore the scholarly and popular understandings of race and racism, and question contemporary perspectives. Why do these concepts have such social and political potency? What are the impacts of concepts of race and practices of racism and anti-racism on individuals, families, communities, nation-states and empires, in Aotearoa New Zealand, the Pacific, and elsewhere?

Prerequisite: 15 points at Stage I in Anthropology and 15 points in BA courses Restriction: ANTHRO 105
