Description: Overview of molecular and tissue engineering principles emphasising biochemical kinetics, gene regulation, cell behaviour and biomedical ethics. Laboratory practice and design project in cell culture and molecular biology techniques. Topics include enzymes and regulation of metabolic pathways, thermodynamic principles of biochemical reactions, systems biology and regulatory motifs in biochemical networks, cell culture techniques, research and medical ethics.
