Description: Kinetics of multiple reactions, analysis of basic reactors – batch, plug flow, and continuous stirred tank. Performance under isothermal, adiabatic, and varying temperature. Effect of semi-continuous, counterflow and recycle on performance. Heterogeneous reactions and catalysis, diffusion and reaction in porous catalysts, effects of external mass transfer resistance, fixed and fluidised bed reactors, gas-liquid reactors. Reactor engineering for biological and electrochemical systems.

Prerequisite: CHEMMAT 202 and 206, or CHEMMAT 212 and 242 Restriction: CHEMMAT 315
