Description: Critically examines the most recent research on, and good practice in, the complex process of acquiring Chinese as a second language. Covers topics related to the relationship between Chinese and students’ first language; individual students’ different learning beliefs, motivation and autonomy; bilingualism; and the development of needs analyses for young and adult learners of Chinese.

Restriction: CHINESE 709 For students currently enrolled in a postgraduate programme in Asian Studies, Chinese or Language Teaching
